The Catalan collective La Fura dels Baus presents a new production of Kurt Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Teatro Real de Madrid. Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht wrote this mordant parody on capitalism and the inexorable industrialisation of a society where not having money is the ultimate criminal. Three thugs dominate over food, sex, gambling and violence in Mahagonny; the authors narrate the story in twenty episodes.
