The Red Violin
Describes the 300-year life of one famous musical instrument, which ends up on the auction block in modern-day Montreal. The red violin was created in 1681 by the Italian master Bussotti (Cecchi) and gets its unusual color from human blood mixed into the finish. The violin travels to Austria, England, China, and Canada with this legacy, leaving both beauty and tragedy in its wake.
