The Price of a Broken Heart
Story based on actual events concerning an important court dispute. After learning that her husband (Park Overall) has been having an open affair with his secretary (Laura Innes), the woman (Park Overall) decides to leave him because he has pledged marriage to her. According to an obscure legislation on alienation of affection, which was established to protect married couples from homewreckers, the woman files for divorce and also sues the secretary. This creates a new factor in the courtroom, as the guilt of the other woman must be justified, and it eliminates the blame of the married couples from consideration altogether.
