Sir James Forbes goes to a remote Cornish village to find out what a mysterious disease is causing. Charles, a local squire who is a follower of Haitian witchcraft, is using voodoo magic to bring the dead back to life so they can work in his old and dangerous tin mines. The locals don't want to work there because of the danger. But his magic is based on human sacrifice, and he unleashes his army of the dead on the village without them knowing, with terrible consequences.
