Director Jerry Lewis wrote, co-wrote, and played himself in this riotously funny movie that set a new standard for screen comedy and made the hit remake. Act 1: Lewis is a timid, nearsighted chemistry teacher who learns about a magical potion that can make him look like Romeo. Act 2: The potion can make Lewis look like Romeo. There are some good parts to the Jekyll and Hyde game. The concoction starts to lose its effect at the most embarrassing times.
