It's the height of summer. The night is one long sultry party under the open sky. 'Tina and her friends' are living the ideal that a whole generation of decadent Berlin-party kids has always dreamed about. However, after one particularly sleepless night, she begins to be visited by a weird, obnoxious creature in her nightmares. Her psychotherapist is the only one with whom she confides about her anxieties. His advise is for her to face her concerns and reach out to the creature. He believes she will succeed. Tina first refuses to communicate with the monster, but after learning of her parents' plans to commit her to a mental institution, she begins to converse with it. It takes her a while to realize that the creature is an incarnation of her fears, and that it is experiencing the same emotions as she is. She begins to hide the creature in her room because she is afraid of being labeled a freak. After a while, she comes dangerously close to achieving it. It's almost like if you're in a relationship with a stray wild animal. Tina almost appears to have the bravery to be herself for the first time in her life, at least on the surface. But soon her parents and friends happen to notice the creature...
