The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking

After her father's ship is swept away by a severe storm, the spirited Pippi Longstocking is trapped with her horse, Alfonso, and pet monkey, Mr. Neilson, and takes up residence in the old family home, which is rumored to be haunted by neighboring children. Tommy and his sister Anika soon wander into the house, only to run into Pippi. The three quickly become friends and embark on numerous adventures together, including cleaning the floor with scrubbing shoes, dodging "splunks," barreling down a waterfall, and assisting Pippi with her orphanage placement. Probably older youngsters will get the most out of this film.
