The Most Dangerous Game
In this novel, famed hunter Bob Rainsford finds himself stranded on the treacherous coral reefs around an unidentified island, and ends himself as a guest of the reclusive and eccentric Russian Count Zaroff. In spite of the fact that he is at first courteous, Zaroff eventually compels Rainsford and two other shipwreck survivors, Eve and Martin Towbridge (brother and sister), to take part in a cruel game of cat and mouse, in which they are the prey and he serves as the hunter.
