Donald Pater was one of the wealthiest people living on a Caribbean island. Xavier Quinn, the police chief on the island, is trying to figure out who killed him. In his Jacuzzi, he was found with his head cut off. When Xavier looks at the evidence, he doesn't think Maubee is to blame. The local political establishment says that Maubee, a small-time thief, is to blame. Because of the police chief's personal history with Maubee, this view isn't as clear as it could be. They've been friends since they were little.
