The Landlord

Elgar Enders "runs away" from home when he is 29 years old. Purchasing a building in a black neighborhood in Park Slope, Brooklyn, is the equivalent of running away. His initial plan is to expel the black inhabitants and turn the structure into a luxurious apartment. Elgar, though, is not the kind to be constrained by impulses from the past, and he soon has other things on his mind.
