Alison Peters has never done anything wrong in her life, but now that she is a lawyer she is forced to work in a grocery store. This has thrown her life into chaos. After posting an ad on MiCasaSuCasa.com to rent out her basement, she receives a response from James Brewer, who states that he and his wife have recently divorced. Desperate for income, she takes James up on his offer. Alison and her coworker Sarah have to deal with Alison's pestering supervisor, Brandon, at their place of employment. When Brandon is found dead, the police begin to suspect that she is involved. Alison is losing more and more people in her life just as she and James are starting to develop romantic feelings for one another.
