The Jennie Project
Hugo Archibald is a doctor who collects unusual animals. His latest pet is a monkey named Jennie. Dr. Archibald is rarely home, and Andrew feels ignored. And Lea, his wife, feels Jennie is trouble. But the kids love her right away. Jennie is special in that she is studying sign language. Andrew Archibald, Dr. Archibald's son, forms a close bond with Jennie. Jennie shares Andrew's interests in baseball and comic books. Jennie stands with Andrew when he and his father disagree. Dr. Pamela Prentiss joins Jennie's training. She disapproves of Jennie's care and is considered impolite by the Archibalds. She teaches Jennie sign language in a way she doesn't comprehend, but Lea does.
