The Help

Aibileen Clark, a middle-aged African-American maid, has spent her life raising white children and recently lost her only son. Minny Jackson, another African-American maid, has often upset her employers, even though her family is poor and she needs a job badly. And Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, a young white woman who just graduated from college and moved back home, finds that her childhood maid has mysteriously disappeared. "The help" are crucial to the lives of all three of these people in Jackson, Mississippi, yet they're always kept apart by racial lines.
