Following her orphanage, Maryann relocates to live with her grandparents. When she becomes desperate for company, she sets out to befriend a dying, bedridden kid who lives next door, against the open disdain of his mother. Maryann's perseverance pays off, however, as over the course of a series of secret trips, she gradually finds some really disturbing activities taking place at the property.
