The Guardians
Nina, a 15-year-old girl, sees a horrendous incident that puts her life in jeopardy. She has no one she can rely on because she is an orphan. As witness protection officer Nina is being pursued by five assassins sent by crooked tycoon Thomas Backer, Max, a former special-forces soldier, is put in charge of ensuring her survival. They quickly overcome their early differences and come to a mutual understanding. While on the run from the merciless Backer, Rudi, a former comrade of Max's, comes to their aid – and continues to do so even when the two find themselves in more precarious situations. As a federal prosecutor, even Max's ex-girlfriend Sara is more than willing to assist him. But Nina and Max are always in peril, and it doesn't take long before the youngster realizes that he isn't the only one who needs a guardian angel–Max is in desperate need of one as well.
