David, a former New York Times journalist, has a nightmare evening when he and his weird new neighbor Robert accidently hit a girl on her bike. To preserve his job, David, buzzed and bewildered, allows Robert persuade him to abandon the scene and leave the girl for dead. Robert exhibits no remorse, and in the name of friendship, he goes to far to keep the secret hidden. When David's local newspaper assigns him to cover the story, he meets the murdered girl's sister Vanessa, and things start to spiral out of hand. Despite the circumstances and her strong desire to locate her sister's killer, the two form an instantaneous sexual bond, which both amazes and bothers David and forces Robert to take drastic measures to keep his new buddy to himself.
