The Goob
In Fenland, England, we're in the midst of a heat wave. Goob Taylor has spent each of his sixteen summers assisting his mother in the operation of the transport cafe and the harvesting of the surrounding beet fields. When Mum marries swarthy stock-car tycoon and ladies' man Gene Womack, Goob becomes an unwanted side thought. However, Goob's world is turned upside down when the exotic beet picker Eva arrives. Goob fantasizes about better things as a result of her flirtatious remarks.
