Marisa Paredes plays Leocadia ("Leo") Macias, a woman who writes "pink" romance novels under the pen name Amanda Gris and is well-known throughout Spain. In contrast to her romantic novels, her own love life is fraught. Leo has a strained relationship with her husband Paco, a military officer stationed in Brussels and later in Bosnia who is both physically and emotionally distant.
