The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

SOS Brigade chief Haruhi Suzumiya says that the Brigade will have a Christmas celebration in their clubroom, including Japanese hotpot for dinner. Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi, members of the brigade, begin putting together costumes and decorations for the party. However, when Kyon returns to school a few days later, he discovers Haruhi has vanished. Not only that, but Mikuru claims she's never met Kyon before, Koizumi has vanished, and Yuki has become the literature club's sole member. Haruhi Suzumiya and the SOS Brigade do not appear to have ever been. Except for Kyon, no one at school has ever heard of her.
