The Cure

They become inseparable, Dexter, age11, who has AIDS, and Eric, a bit older and considerably bigger than him, who lives next door. When she finds out that Eric and Dexter are friends, Eric's mother, who is inattentive and bigoted, forcefully prohibits their association. Eric also becomes closer to Dexter's mother than to his own, who is equally racist. The two friends, Dexter and Erik, set off on their adventure to find "The Cure" after reading about it in the neighborhood newspaper.
