The Constable
Lam Kwok Kuen, who is nearing retirement and is parenting his mentally disabled son alone, is a police officer whose primary responsibility on the job is to supervise the department's fleet. Despite this, he continues to serve on the front lines of law enforcement, putting his life on the line for the sake of others, his heroism surpassing that of even the most seasoned professionals. He battles the bad guys, apprehending criminals and protecting the law at all costs, because, as his proverb declares, living a day trumps pursuing justice fiercely, regardless of whether life or death follows.
