1000 doomed people stranded aboard a plague-infested train are the subject of an all-star disaster spectacular. A terrorist infected with a lethal virus boards the Stockholm-Geneva Express, infecting everyone on board. On the train is Dr. Chamberlain (Richard Harris), who is rescued by Colonel Mackenzie (Burt Lancaster). Mackenzie reroutes the train to the Cassandra Crossing, where it disappears. So Chamberlain must race against time to detach the cars.
