British India, 1880. Robert Case, a half-caste officer, is discharged from the British Army without justification. He joins the offensive against the colonial enemy by insurgent Bengali tribesmen. They apprehend a foreign journalist, and Case narrates his narrative of false accusation on fabricated accusations, caused by his superior officers' intolerance and racism. Following the British's successful attack on the rebels, Case is brutally murdered by Colonel Drewe, his accuser. The journalist goes home determined to tell The Brigand of Kandahar's genuine story.
