The Blackout

There were no meteors hitting the Earth, no terrorists putting the world in peril, and no nuclear war was launched, but something went wrong. The majority of the world's cities have lost contact. There is still electricity in a small ring-like area in Eastern Europe, and possibly even life is being detected from space. The military forces discover outside the Ring are astounded. There are bodies everywhere: in stores, cars, highways, hospitals, and train stations. Who or what is annihilating all life on the planet? How long will humanity's last outpost remain?
