The Bird with the Crystal Plumage

Sam Dalmas, an American writer in Rome, sees a violent altercation in an art gallery while on his way home one evening. He attempts to intervene but is unable to do so because the glass doors of the gallery are electronically actuated. During an interrogation by police, the horrified author makes an effort to recall the incident in its entirety. Having come to the conclusion that he is missing some crucial information about the crime, Dalmas conducts his own investigation, putting both himself and his lover Giulia at risk.
