The Big Country

Jim McKay, a wealthy retired sea captain, travels in the West to marry Pat Terrill. The ranchers don't understand McKay's principles or way of life, and Steve Leech, the ranch foreman, dislikes him instantly. Princess Pat is spoilt, self-centered, and ruled by her affluent father. An unruly clan led by Rufus Hannassey is fighting the Major over watering rights for cattle. Terrill and Hannassey both covet Julie Maragon's land.
