Tabu
Matahi and Reri are infatuated with one other as young adults. It has been announced that Reri will be the gods' new chosen virgin. For her and for their lover's safety she must remain unharmed, or they will be slain. Because of the white man's control, their gods would be powerless and harmless in the hands of Matahi. Tabu is the final film directed by F.W. Murnau, who was killed in a vehicle accident just days before the film's debut.
