Sweet Country
It's 1929 on the enormous, desert-like Eastern Arrernte Nation grounds that are today known as the Central Australian outback, which were originally home to the Eastern Arrernte Nation. An Aboriginal guy in his forties works the land of a nice preacher named Fred Smith. Sam Kelly is a middle-aged Aboriginal man. In self-defense, Kelly shoots and kills an ill-tempered bully who comes in town. Kelly and his wife flee from the town as a posse forms to track them down.
