STYRIA transports the viewer into a frightening world of fantasy and obsession, inspired by Sheridan LeFanu's iconic 19th century vampire novel Carmilla. In 1989, Lara Hill (Eleanor Tomlinson) travels across the Iron Curtain with her art historian father (Stephen Rea) to an abandoned castle. The lovely and mysterious Carmilla awakens from a vehicle accident outside the castle. Carmilla is seduced into an intoxicating romance by Lara's hidden entrance into the castle. Lara's psychic scars erupt into a living nightmare that infects the entire village of Styria when Carmilla inexplicably vanishes and women of the town begin committing suicide.
