Smilla's Sense of Snow

Smilla Jaspersen, a half-Danish, half-Greenlander woman, tries to comprehend the death of a young boy who fell from the roof of her apartment building. In her investigation into possible malfeasance, Smilla unearths a trail of evidence that points to a mysterious Greenland exploration company. It was shot in Copenhagen and western Greenland. During the 47th Berlin International Film Festival, filmmaker Bille August was nominated for the Golden Bear.
