Silent Running
Large pods that are attached to spacecraft are the only places where ecosystems can survive on a future Earth that is devoid of all flora and fauna. When most of the crew of the Valley Forge hears that the pods are going to be destroyed in space after being launched into space and flung into space, it causes them to celebrate because it means that the ship will be able to be used again for commercial purposes. However, this is not the case for biologist Freeman Lowell, who has a deep love for the forest and all of the species that live there. As a result, he makes the decision to take matters into his own hands in order to safeguard what he cherishes.
