Samsara
As the name suggests, Samsara is a metaphor for life's constantly rotating wheel. Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson, whose past collaborations include the films Chronos and Baraka, and who have traveled to over 58 countries together in the pursuit of unique photography over the course of the last 20 years, have found the appropriate topic in this concept that is both intimate and enormous. Samsara is presented in the guise of a nonverbal, guided meditation that will transform viewers in countries all over the world as they are swept along on a spiritual adventure. The video exposes the connections between mankind and the rest of nature, demonstrating how our life cycle mirrors the rhythm of the world, through striking pictures shot in 70mm and a dramatic musical composition, among other techniques.
