Sacrifice
This is the account of Tora Hamilton's life after she and her husband Duncan migrate to the lonely Shetland Islands, around 100 miles off Scotland's north-east coast. Tora discovers the body of a young woman with rune symbols cut into her skin and a gaping hole where her heart once beat in the peat soil around her new house. Even though she was warned not to, Tora discovers alarming connections to a mythology that may never have been contained within the pages of a storybook.
