Is it possible to be principled in Los Angeles? Mike Terry is a jujitsu instructor who struggles to make ends meet. Mike's Brazilian wife, whose family promotes bouts, wants to see him make money in the ring, but he considers competition humiliating. A woman sideswipes Mike's automobile and then shoots out the studio window after a strange sequence of events. Mike saves an action movie star from a bar brawl later that evening. In exchange, the actor befriends Mike, gives him a gift, offers him work on his newest picture, and introduces Mike's wife to his own; the two women strike up a professional relationship. Then everything goes wrong at once, Mike's debts increase, and he may have no choice but to enter the ring.
