They think they may have already talked to The Ripper and let him back out into the world so he could keep killing people in Yorkshire for six years. But when they find out that not only does the Ripper have to be caught, but a copycat killer is also on the loose, things get even more difficult. It's Peter Hunter's job to make sure the West Yorkshire Police's Ripper investigation runs smoothly. With the help of John Nolan and Helen Marshall, two detectives from the Manchester Police, they decide to go back and read the crime reports from the Ripper's victims to see if there are any things they could have missed.
