Purgatory Road
Travis grows up believing that he is responsible for his parents' suicide since he was powerless to prevent a burglar from stealing his father's meager nest money. He goes on to become a priest and runs a highway confessional with his ambivalent brother, Michael, where he gives wise counsel to sinners while wreaking havoc on unrepentant thieves. It is Mary Francis, a crazy young woman with psychopathic tendencies, who enters the life of this adversarial couple. She kills a thief who threatens to expose the very un-holy siblings, and her actions lead to their arrest. As a gesture of thanks, Travis lets the woman into their holy world, setting off a chain of carnage-laced events that threatens to end the brothers' deadly, decades-long union.
