Piñero
It is the story of a Latino icon, gay poet-playwright-actor Miguel Piero, whose urban poetry was a forerunner of rap and hip-hop. Piero's experiences in hard-core Sing-Sing inspired the Tony-nominated 1974 drama Short Eyes. To avoid the media attention, the Latino genius withdrew to the darkest parts of New York.
