Of Gods and Men

Drama based on the kidnapping and murder of seven monks in Algeria in 1996. A handful of Trappist monks stay in the Algerian monastery of Tibhirine, where they coexist with the predominantly Muslim populace. When a deadly fight between Algeria's army and Muslim Jihadi terrorists interrupts the tranquility, they are compelled to contemplate quitting the monastery and abandoning the villagers they have served. Faced with lethal conflict, the monks struggle with their religion and convictions before opting to stay and assist their neighbors in keeping the army and insurgents at bay.
