More Dead than Alive
When Cain is freed from jail after 18 years, he intends to become a rancher and never pick up a pistol again. However, he is haunted by his past; not only is he unable to get employment, but a number of criminals also wish to exact revenge on him. Consequently, he must accept the invitation of the showman Ruffalo to perform as "Killer Cain" in his traveling shooting show. After 18 years without practice, though, even Ruffalo's teenage aide Billy shoots better than Cain.
