Mondays in the Sun

Santa, José, Lino, Amador, Sergei, and Reina remain in touch after the shutdown of their shipyard in Northern Spain. They mostly gather at Rico's tavern. As the group's unofficial leader, Santa exudes confidence. He faces a criminal action for a shipyard lamp he broke in protest of the closure. José resents that Ana works while he does not. He fears she will leave him for a coworker as the distance between them grows. Ana works night shifts at a fish factory despite her rheumatic legs. Her employer appears to disagree. Lino, an aged family guy determined to succeed. Amador, the group's eldest member, has become an alcoholic after his wife abandoned him, claiming she will return from vacation shortly.
