Mo' Better Blues
The film begins with Bleek learning to play the trumpet as a child; his pals urge him to come out and play, but his mother insists that he finish his lessons. Bleek matures into an adult and forms The Bleek Gilliam Quartet, his own band. The narrative of Bleek and Shadow's on-stage friendly competition, which spills over into their professional relationship and threatens to break up the four.
