Midnight Movie

A slasher film called The Dark Beneath was released in the 1970s. Ted Radford, the film's director and star, has a nervous breakdown and is hospitalized. His doctor tries to help him by playing him his favorite film. Dr. Wayne, a psychiatrist, is doubtful about the proposal, but he departs for the evening. It's a massacre when he returns the next morning, but no bodies have been found. The picture shifts to a local theater five years later, where The Dark Beneath is being exhibited at midnight for the first time since the killings, as a midnight horror film.
