Rangasamy, a laborer like his fellow sons of soil, toils in the spice plantations held by landlords along the state boundaries of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is his dream to own a piece of land and earn a living via farming. He leads a happy life and wishes to do so. In the end, after years of hardship, his ambition is realized when Chaako, a local politician, assists him in purchasing the land. However, he soon encounters more difficult hurdles as he must deal with crooked and affluent political figures.
