It is never easy to find love. Ravi Patel's chances are minimal as a first-generation Indian-American. His ideal bride is stunning, intelligent, amusing, family-oriented, and kind, and, in keeping with tradition, Indian (though hopefully raised in the US). Additionally, her surname should be Patel, as Patels typically marry other Patels in India. Thus, at the age of30, Ravi chooses to quit his relationship with his American fiancée (who is otherwise ideal for him save for her red hair and American name) and begin on a worldwide hunt for another Patel yearning to be loved. He enlists his matchmaker mother's assistance, visits a convention of Patels in the United States, and flies to India's wedding season.
