In the early 1800's, a gang of fur trappers and Indian traders make a desperate attempt to return to civilization with their products in order to beat the approaching winter. When guide Zachary Bass is hurt in a bear assault, they determine he is doomed and abandon him to die. When he regains consciousness, he vows vengeance on them and pursues them and their paranoid expedition commander.
