Lou Reed & John Cale: Songs for Drella

Lou Reed and John Cale, both formerly of The Velvet Underground, dedicated Songs for Drella to their mentor Andy Warhol, who died in 1987. Warhol's crowd called him Drella, a combination of Dracula and Cinderella. The song cycle concentrates on Warhol's interpersonal relations and experiences, with songs falling into three categories: Warhol's first-person perspective, third-person narratives chronicling events and affairs, and Reed and Cale's first-person reflections on Warhol. The album's songs are chronologically ordered.
