Young Ichiko, abandoned by her mother, abandons her life in the city to live off the land in Komori, a small town nestled among the mountains of rural Japan. Despite the void left by her mother's absence, Ichiko grows to appreciate her independence and delights in her newfound connection with food and the elements.
