In Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Olivia (Isabel Sandoval), an illegal Filipina transwoman, is employed as a caregiver by Olga (Lynn Cohen), an old Russian woman. Olga is a resident of Russia. After exhausting all of her other avenues for obtaining legal status in the United States, Olivia starts a romantic relationship with Alex (Eamon Farren), who is Olga's adult grandson.
