Takumi Kitamura is a senior in high school. I come into a diary written by one of my classmates, Sakura Yamauchi (Minami Hamabe), which shows she has pancreatic cancer. Sakura was my friend, but she passed away. I (Shun Oguri) am now a high school teacher at the same school where I graduated 12 years ago, thanks to Sakura's remarks. I recall several months I spent with Sakura as I speak with my pupil. In the meantime, Sakura's friend Kyoko (Keiko Kitagawa) is getting married. Kyoko also remembers my and Sakura's days together.
