Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

The parents of three very wealthy children perish in a fire. They find out that a distant relative is hatching a plan to kill them and steal their riches when they are forced to visit with that relative. In the context of this review, "very scary" refers to "a fascinating misadventure featuring three brilliant orphans and a wicked actor named Count Olaf (Jim Carrey) who wants their vast inheritance." This film is an example of the latter definition. It features a strange fire, delectable spaghetti, Jim Carrey, poorly behaved looches, Billy Connolly, an extremely lethal viper, Meryl Streep, and the voice of a man pretending to be Jude Law.
